As a CEO of a time tracking and attendance app company my team and I are constantly looking at the best B2B software to know what’s going on in the market. That means we’re often researching about and/or playing around with their products, you know, it’s part of the job. Here, I share my findings of that research, giving credit to those products where credit is due and being honest about which products I believe you really need to avoid. And so, there you have it, this review, and in it, I try to be honest, fair, and insightful. I hope it helps you make the right decision…

Overview

Managing employee time is a critical task for any business. It ensures that employees are paid correctly and that businesses are compliant with labor laws. However, manually tracking employee time can be time-consuming and error-prone.

In this article, I’ll take a closer look at the 10 best employee time card calculators on the market. These calculators can help businesses track employee time while saving time and ensuring accuracy. They can also help businesses generate reports on employee time usage, which can help improve productivity and decision-making.

Top 10 Employee Time Card Calculators for US Businesses

The Definitive List:

1. Jibble Time Card Calculator

Jibble’s free time card calculator is easy to figure out and use. Simply plug in your start time and end time, as well as the start time and end time of your breaks. The tool will then calculate the total number of hours worked, which appears in hours and minutes as well as in decimal form.

The Jibble calculator also has a section for calculating overtime, which helps ensure that your business stays compliant with FLSA overtime guidelines. There’s an option for you to choose which overtime laws to factor into your calculations, including FLSA overtime laws, California state overtime laws, and Canada ESDC laws. In addition, you have the option of rounding to 5 minutes, 6 minutes, and 10 minutes, as well as the option to go from a weekly timesheet to a biweekly timesheet.

This is a customizable and flexible time card calculator that helps businesses make sure that they have accurate timekeeping records for accurate payroll.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input the start and end times of breaks
  • Customizable base pay rate and currency
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • 12-hour or 24-hour format options
  • Option to round to 5, 6, or 10 minutes
  • Shareable via a link

2. Calculator.net Time Card Calculator

There’s a lot you can do with Calculator.net’s time card calculator, even though its interface looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 2000s. Don’t let the outdated appearance fool you, however; this calculator is highly useful, versatile, and can be adapted to different kinds of businesses.

First, the calculator allows you to round time to the nearest 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 1 hour. You can also choose whether or not to include payment information, including the employee’s hourly wage and overtime pay rate. In addition, you can copy the first day’s values to automatically fill in the values for the rest of the week’s work days. Once you’re done, you can save the values to the browser you’re using.

While I really like this calculator, I do wish that its interface can be improved. It looks way too outdated, but it works well so I can’t complain much. However, I also wish that there was an option to export the time card as a spreadsheet or a PDF file. Right now, you only have the option to print out the time card, which I don’t think is sufficient.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to copy the previous day’s time entries
  • Includes options for rounding up or down
  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Can be saved to the browser
  • Printable time card

3. TimeCardCalculator.net

TimeCardCalculator.net’s time card tool is one of the best out there, allowing you to add as much relevant information to an employee’s time card as possible. It’s highly customizable, so you’ll be able to adjust the time clock format, adjust the pay period from 1 week up to 4 weeks, add one or two breaks to workday calculations, and more.

You can toggle all these options so that you can include the data you want to include and remove the data you don’t think is necessary. This makes this calculator flexible and suitable for a wide variety of businesses.

Like Calculator.net’s time card calculator, however, this one has quite an outdated interface. Another thing I don’t like is that it takes you to a different page if you want to make adjustments to the calculator. I’m not sure why it works this way when most other calculators I’ve encountered have all its controls on just one page.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Adjustable time clock format
  • Pay periods from 1 week up to 4 weeks
  • One, two, or no breaks
  • Option to automatically deduct breaks
  • Allows decimal hour format and decimal hour rounding

4. Clockify Time Card Calculator

Clockify offers one of the most flexible and comprehensive free time card calculators I’ve seen. You can input the exact duration of breaks, allowing for more accurate time tracking and pay calculation. You can also choose whether or not you want the tool to calculate pay as well as the number of overtime hours. Furthermore, you’ll be able to input the employee’s hourly wage as well as the overtime pay rate.

There isn’t much that I don’t like about this time card calculator. It’s easy to use, it has a clean interface, and it allows you toggle several options on and off.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Option to input the start and end times of breaks
  • Customizable base pay rate and currency
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • 12-hour or 24-hour format options
  • Printable and can be exported as a CSV file

5. Time Clock Wizard Time Card and Payroll Calculator

Time Clock Wizard’s calculator has a simple and clean interface that belies a customizable and flexible tool. With just one click, you can toggle overtime calculations on and off. You can also choose to calculate weekly or biweekly wages, as well as add the base hourly wage. In addition, it can give you a breakdown of regular and overtime hours, as well as a breakdown of regular and overtime pay.

I like how clean the interface is, but what I don’t like is that there’s no option to export the time card. You can only print it out, which isn’t helpful for businesses that need a digital file to work with.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Adjustable time clock format
  • Includes breakdown of regular pay and overtime pay
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • Printable time card

6. Everhour Time Card Calculator

The thing I like best about Everhour’s calculator is that it’s really customizable. You can choose how you want to input break reductions, adjust when the first day is, input the hourly rate, and adjust the overtime pay rate.

You also have the option of copying the previous day’s time entries so you won’t have to repeatedly input information if the employee has the same clock-in, clock-out, and break times. In addition, you’ll get a breakdown of the gross pay and total hours worked. Overall, I really liked Everhour’s time card calculator and I don’t see any issues with it.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to copy the previous day’s time entries
  • Customizable base pay rate and currency
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • 12-hour or 24-hour format options
  • Printable and can be exported as a CSV file

7. Homebase Time Card Calculator

Homebase’s calculator is also pretty straightforward. Once you’ve put in the start time and end time as well as the estimated total duration of your breaks, the tool will then calculate the total amount of hours worked. It can also calculate the total number of overtime hours per day or per week. After all of this is done, you can email or print the time card.

However, what I don’t like about Homebase’s time card is that it doesn’t allow you to put in the start and end times of breaks. It only allows you to put in the total time spent on breaks, and you can only input the time in increments of half an hour. It’s thus not as flexible as I would usually prefer.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Option to calculate overtime hours and overtime pay
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • Printable and can be exported as a PDF file
  • Break estimation

8. Time Card Calculator Geek

Because Time Card Calculator Geek’s tool is so customizable, it’s earned its place on this list. You can choose what data to include, so you can make it as simple or as detailed as you want it to be. There’s an option to go from a weekly to biweekly timesheet, and you can also choose to include one, two, or no breaks per workday.

In addition, you can choose to implement rounding time values to 15 minutes, and you can also use military time or decimal time. One thing that I haven’t seen in most other calculators is the inclusion of sick hours and vacation hours, which allows you to add this detail whenever necessary.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Base pay rate and overtime pay rate
  • Weekly or biweekly calculations
  • One, two, or no breaks
  • Allows decimal hour and military time format
  • Option to round to 15 minutes
  • Printable and can be exported as a PDF file

9. Calculator Soup Work Hours Calculator

Calculator Soup’s time card calculator is easy and simple enough to use, though its interface still has room for improvement. It provides a variety of customizable options, allowing you to choose to calculate overtime hours, automatically deduct breaks, and round time entries to the nearest 5 minutes, 6 minutes, or 10 minutes.

These options allow this calculator to work seamlessly with various kinds of businesses, regardless of timekeeping needs. What I don’t like, however, is that the calculator doesn’t allow you to input the hourly base wage and the overtime pay rate. It thus only shows the number of regular hours and overtime hours worked, but you’ll have to calculate the employee’s pay yourself.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Customizable base pay rate and currency
  • Allows you to input overtime pay rate
  • 12-hour or 24-hour format options
  • Option to round to 5, 6, or 10 minutes
  • Shareable via a link

10. QuickBooks Time Card Calculator

Aside from the QuickBooks Time app, QuickBooks also offers a time card calculator. This calculator has the features I typically like to see, such as the opportunity to input the hourly base wage as well as the overtime pay rate. Aside from the gross number of hours worked, it can also show you the number of overtime hours.

As a bonus, it also has an auto-fill option that automatically populates the values for the rest of the work week once you’ve filled in the values for the first work day. In addition, it also gives you the option to use either a weekly or biweekly timesheet.

Key Time Card Calculator Features

  • Allows you to input base pay and overtime pay rate
  • Weekly or biweekly
  • Auto-fill feature
  • Downloadable CSV file
