What Is an Overtime Calculator?

An overtime calculator helps you work out how much extra pay is owed for hours worked beyond your normal schedule. Rather than calculating it by hand, it uses your pay rate, regular hours, and overtime hours to give you a quick result.

It’s an easy way to see your total pay clearly, especially when overtime rates can change depending on the day, shift, or situation.

How Can I Use an Overtime Calculator?

Jibble’s overtime calculator makes it easy to work out extra pay. Here’s how to calculate overtime in Turkey:

  1. Choose your pay type — Select whether your pay is based on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly rate.
  2. Enter your regular pay — Add your normal wage or salary. This is the amount used as the base for overtime calculations.
  3. Add your usual working hours — Input the number of hours you normally work during that pay period.
  4. Set the overtime rate — Choose the multiplier that applies, such as 1.5x or 2x, or enter a custom rate if needed.
  5. Enter overtime hours — Add the extra hours worked beyond your normal schedule.
  6. View your total — Click calculate to instantly see your overtime pay, separate from your regular earnings.

How Much Is Overtime Pay in Turkey?

As of April 2026, overtime in Turkey is generally paid at 1.5 times the employee’s normal hourly wage for hours worked beyond the standard 45-hour workweek under Labour Law No. 4857.

If an employee’s contract sets weekly hours below 45, extra hours worked up to 45 are usually treated as additional hours, which are commonly paid at 1.25 times the normal hourly wage.

Employees may also request time off instead of overtime pay in some cases, subject to legal conditions.

Is There an Overtime Limit in Turkey?

Yes, overtime in Turkey is limited by law.

Under Article 41 of the Turkish Labour Law, an employee’s total overtime hours cannot exceed 270 hours per year. Once that limit is reached, additional overtime should not be assigned under normal circumstances.

Are Turkish Employers Required to Keep Working Time Records?

Yes. Turkish businesses are required to keep employee records and meet legal obligations related to wages and working time. In practice, this means keeping accurate records of hours worked and overtime so pay can be calculated correctly and compliance can be demonstrated if needed.
