Account deletion via mobile

How to delete an account and what happens after deletion

There are two flows to delete an account on Jibble:

  1. Member of an organization deletes an account.

  2. Owner of an organization deletes an account.

To delete an account for members:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Account Control > Delete account.

Go to Account Settings > Account Control > Delete account.

  2. Clicking on Delete account will prompt two confirmation modals to confirm the deletion.

  3. The first modal informs the member of the consequences of the action and the second modal informs the member of the [named] organizations their account will be deleted from.

The first modal informs the member of the consequences of the action and the second modal informs the member of the [named] organizations their account will be deleted from.

  4. Type in DELETE to confirm account deletion.

Note: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All data included in the member’s account will be cleared and deleted. Owners and admins of the organization will receive a notification via email that the member has deleted their account.

To delete an account for owners:

The flow is similar to the flow above but with the following additions:

  1. If there are members other than the Owner within the organization, clicking on the Delete button will produce a message notifying owner that there are members within their organization:

“There are members within your organization.

    • Contact support to transfer ownership.

    • OR delete organization from the web app.”

  2. If there are no members except the Owner within the organization, clicking on the Delete button will prompt a confirmation modal informing the owner that they will be deleted from the [named] organizations they are a part of. Upon confirming, their account will be deleted, and organization will be scheduled for deletion in 7 days.

Note: Deletion of account for an owner of the organization will delete the whole organization, including all timesheet information.

What happens with the data after account deletion?

  1. If the user is of a member/admin/manager role, deleting their Jibble account will preserve their timesheet data and the user’s full name.

Timesheet data that is preserved upon deletion:

    • Time entries

    • Locations on time entries

    • Selfies on time entries

    • User’s full name

Timesheet data that is not preserved upon deletion:

    • Profile photo/Avatar

  2. If the user is an owner of the organization, deleting the account will delete the whole organization, including all timesheet information.

How does a person appear in the organization after the user deletes an account?

  1. When a member deletes his own Jibble account, all data will be cleared in the account and the person is transferred to “Archived members” box.

  2. Behavior of deleted members in the organization:

    • The members’ avatar and names will be greyed out.

    • Historic data are kept and member’s name is searchable in timesheets, approvals & reports and any date-sensitive data pulls.

  3. After a member deletes his own Jibble account and is transferred to “Archived members” box, owners and admins will then be able to permanently delete this member’s account. Upon permanent deletion, all historic data will be erased from the app and cannot be retrieved anymore.
