Cambodia sets 2026 minimum wage at US$210 per month

Starting January 1, 2026, the monthly minimum wage for workers in Cambodia’s textile, garment, footwear, travel goods, and bag industries will rise by US$2, from US$208 to US$210, as reported by Andersen Global.
On September 17, 2025, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training issued Prakas No. 214/25, an official regulation setting the minimum wage for workers in 2026.
Under the new regulation, probationary workers will continue to earn US$208 per month during their trial period, with their wages increasing to US$210 once probation ends.
For employees paid by piece rate, pay will still depend on output, but employers are required to ensure total monthly earnings meet at least the set minimum wage.
Wage Increase Implemented After Council Review
The decision to raise the minimum wage followed the fourth meeting of the National Minimum Wage Council, where representatives of both employees and employers decided not to propose new wage figures for 2026, leaving the final decision to the Royal Government.
Prime Minister Hun Manet confirmed the decision on social media, emphasizing the government’s continued commitment to improving workers’ living standards through annual wage adjustments.
All other employment benefits remain unchanged, and any prior regulations conflicting with the new wage level are now void.
How Cambodia Sets Its Minimum Wage
Cambodia decides its minimum wage through discussions between the government, employers, and worker unions. These discussions are led by the National Minimum Wage Council, which meets every year to review the country’s economic conditions before making a decision.
The council looks at several key factors, including inflation, cost of living, worker productivity, and business competitiveness.
If all parties agree on a rate, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training makes it official through a regulation called a Prakas. If there’s no agreement, the government decides the final amount.
