Clock in when app launches

This feature starts your timer automatically as soon as you open the Jibble desktop app. It eliminates the need for manual clock-ins at the beginning of your workday.

How to enable:

  1. Open the Jibble desktop app.
  2. Click on your name situated in the bottom section.
  3. Select Settings.Desktop settings
  4. Under the General tab, check the box for Clock in when app launches.Clock in when app launches

Important notes:

  • If a default activity, project or location is set, it will be applied during clock in.
  • If you are already clocked in, no new clock-ins will be performed.
  • Clock-ins will only happen if you’re currently clocked out; breaks won’t trigger a new clock-in.
  • Reminders and auto clock-outs will be applied if enabled in organization or group settings.

Clock out when app closes

This feature automatically clocks you out when you close the Jibble desktop app, helping to prevent missed clock-outs and ensuring that your end-of-day time is recorded accurately.

  2. Click on your name situated in the bottom section.
  3. Click on Settings.Desktop settings
  4. Under the General tab, check the box for Clock out when quitting from menu bar.Clock out when quitting

Important notes:

  • If you are already clocked out, no new clock-outs will be performed.
  • Clock-outs won’t be performed if you’re on a break and the app is closed.
  • Reminders will be set if configured in organization or group settings.

Launch Jibble on desktop start

Set Jibble to automatically open whenever you start your computer. This ensures that the app is ready to use and that you start tracking your time without having to remember to open it manually.

Tip 💡: Combine this setting with automatic clock-in for a seamless time tracking experience. Your desktop will open the Jibble app and clock you in as soon as your computer starts.

Clock out or start break when desktop sleeps

This feature allows you to choose a time tracking action that will trigger when your desktop sleeps, limiting the amount of idle time being tracked. You can choose between clocking out, starting a break, or no actions being taken.

How to enable:

  1. Open the Jibble desktop app.
  2. Click on your name at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Navigate to the Settings.Desktop settings
  4. Under the General tab, click on the dropdown field for When desktop sleeps / wakes up and choose between the 3 options.When Desktop sleeps settings
  5. You can select whether you’d like to:
    • Do nothing 
      • No actions are triggered and any running timers aren’t interrupted.
      • This selection is the default setting.
    • Clock out / Clock in
      • Automatically clocks you out when your desktop sleeps.
      • Automatically clocks you back in once your desktop wakes up.
      • No clock out will be created if you’re already clocked out or on a break.
      • Clock in/out reminders will trigger if enabled at the organization or group level.
      • If a default activity, project or location is set, it will be applied during clock in.
    • Start a break / Clock in
      • Automatically starts a break when your desktop sleeps.
      • Automatically clocks you back in once your desktop wakes up.
      • This option can only be chosen if custom breaks are not enabled in the assigned work schedule.
      • Clock out reminders will trigger if enabled at the organization or group level.
      • If a default activity, project or location is set, it will be pre-filled during clock in.

Important notes:

  • All automated entries will be marked with an automated desktop icon on timesheets.

Clock out or start break when desktop locks

Configure what happens when your desktop locks to prevent unwanted tracked time if you are away from your laptop or leave it unattended. Select between an automatic clock out, instantly starting a break, or no actions being taken.

How to enable:

  1. Open the Jibble desktop app and click on your name at the bottom.
  2. Locate and click into the Settings.Desktop settings
  3. Within the same General tab, click on the dropdown field for When desktop locks / unlocks and select from the 3 options.When Desktop locks settings
  4. You can choose to:
    • Do nothing
      • No actions are triggered and any running timers aren’t interrupted.
      • This selection is the default setting.
    • Clock out / Clock in
      • Automatically clocks you out when your desktop locks.
      • Automatically clocks you back in when your desktop unlocks.
      • New clock outs won’t be initiated if you are currently clocked out or on a break.
      • Clock in/out reminders will trigger if settings are enabled on the organization or group level.
      • If a default activity, project or location is set, it will be applied during a clock in.
    • Start a break / Clock in
      • Automatically start a break once your desktop is locked
      • Automatically clocks you back in when your desktop is finally unlocked.
      • You can only enable this option if there are no custom breaks created in the assigned work schedule.
      • Clock out reminders will trigger if you have the right settings enabled on the organization or group level.
      • If a default activity, project or location is set, the field will be pre-filled during clock in.
