Tracking time on Jibble’s desktop app
Clock in and out, take breaks, or add manual hours conveniently via Jibble’s desktop app
Whether you’re a freelancer or a full-time employee, tracking time has never been more effortless with Jibble’s desktop time tracker app. Clock in your hours and log breaks directly from your workspace for better convenience and less disruption to your workflow.
If required, you can also record manual hours via the desktop app to log any past work.

Clocking in and out
To track your hours in real time, simply clock in at the start of your work day and clock out at the end of your session.
- Click the green Play button to clock in.
- Choose a location, activity and project if needed, and add any additional notes.
Tip: Save time by configuring a default activity, project and location for quicker clock ins. - Before clocking in, you may configure the Clock Out Reminder or Automatic Clock Out if your Organization has enabled this setting. Read more on setting reminders and automatic clock out.
Note: Ensure that you have enabled the notification channels on your account settings to receive your reminders and alerts either via email and/or mobile push notifications. - Click on Save to start the timer and begin tracking your work hours.
- While clocked in, you can switch to a different activity or project, by clicking on the green Switch Activity button.
- Select the desired activity and project, and then click on Save to clock in.
- When you’re ready to end your tracking session, click the red Stop button, select a location or add a note if required, then tap on Save to clock out.
Taking breaks
To start a break, you must already be clocked in. If you have configured multiple break options, you’ll have the choice to select a specific break type.
- Begin by clocking in as you typically would.
- Click on the yellow Break button.
- If you have configured various break types, choose the desired break type and tap on Save to start your break.
Note: If you haven’t set up any custom breaks, clicking the yellow Break button will immediately start your break session. - To conclude your break and resume work, click on the yellow End Break button.
- If needed, select a location, activity, and project, add a note, and then click on Save to clock back in.
Adding manual hours
In the event you have forgotten to clock in during the day, you can add manual hour entries to keep track of the hours you’ve worked. Manual hour entries will be marked as “Manual” in timesheets.
- Click on the Add hours button.
- Select the duration field to input the hours and minutes of your entry.
- Select the date you want to track your hours for.
- If required, select an activity, project, or add a note to your hour entry.
- Once everything has been filled in, click Save.
- To view the manual hour entries you’ve added on past dates, click on the calendar drop down and navigate to the specific date.
- Your manual hour entry will appear in the list of time entries and be visibly marked with an M icon.
