Updating your user details

Learn how to update your Jibble user details and understand where those changes apply

Your user details are the basic information tied to your Jibble account. This includes things like your email, password, and language preferences. Most of these settings follow you across all organizations you’re part of.

User name vs person name

Before you update your details, it’s helpful to understand the difference between your user name and your person name, as they’re used in different places across Jibble.

  • User name: The name you set when creating your account. It’s used if you’re not part of any organization.User name on account details page
  • Person name: The name assigned to you within an organization. This is what others will see once you’ve joined—appearing in emails, reports, and throughout the organization.Person name in organization and account settings

How to update your user details

To update your user details, start by accessing the User Details page. There are two ways to get there:

From the login screen

  1. Sign up to Jibble or login if you already have an account.
  2. You’ll be directed to this screen showing your account details.
  3. Click on your name in the top right corner of the screen, and select User Details from the dropdown menu.User details in the dropdown menu on account details page
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit the field, then click Save to apply the change.Pencil icon to edit each field

From within an organization

When you’re logged into a specific organization, you can access your account settings by:

  1. Clicking your name in the bottom left corner of the screen and select Manage organizations from the menu.Manage organization button from within an organization after logged in
  2. You’ll be taken to a page showing your account details.
  3. Repeat the same steps as described above.User details in the dropdown menu on account details page

User details and where they apply

Your details
Your name This updates your user name across Jibble.

Note: This change won’t affect your display name within organizations. If you want a different name shown in a specific organization, read more on updating your account settings.
Login & security
Email Updating your email affects how you log in across all organizations.
Phone number Updating your phone number affects how you log in across all organizations.
Password Updating your password affects how you log in across all organizations.
Two-factor authentication Enabling or disabling it applies to all organizations you’re a part of.
Language
Language Sets your interface language for the current organization—each organization can have its own language setting.
